Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 June 2026

1. What this covers

Cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) are small pieces of information stored on your device. Some are essential to run Peamo; others are non-essential and used only with your consent. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we ask for your consent before any non-essential storage is used — and nothing non-essential runs until you accept.

When we ask, accepting and rejecting are offered with equal prominence: the “Accept” and “Reject non-essential” options sit side by side, and refusing is as easy as accepting. Choosing to reject — or simply not choosing — keeps every non-essential cookie and script switched off. Either choice leaves the strictly necessary cookies that sign you in and secure the service unaffected.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These are required to provide the service you ask for — chiefly to sign you in and keep your session secure. They cannot be switched off through the consent banner, because the service would not work without them. They are exempt from the consent requirement under PECR.

3. Functional preferences

When you choose a light or dark appearance, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it. It is set only when you change the setting, stays on your device, contains no personal information, and is not used to track you.

4. Analytics (non-essential)

With your consent, we use Plausible, a privacy-respecting analytics service, to understand how the site is used in aggregate. Plausible does not use advertising cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites. The analytics script is loaded only after you accept; if you reject or have not yet chosen, it is never loaded and makes no request.

5. Comparison and partner links

Some comparison links route through a partner’s tracking so the partner can recognise that the visit came from Peamo. When you follow such a link and arrive on the partner’s website, that partner may set its own cookies on your device. Those cookies are controlled by the partner under its own cookie and privacy policies — not by Peamo — and are subject to the consent the partner asks for on its own site.

Within Peamo, when you follow a comparison link we record that a click happened so the comparison feature works and we can measure it. That record is held on your account and does not place an advertising cookie on your device.

6. Changing your consent

You can change your choice at any time, and changing your mind is as easy either way — accepting now or rejecting later both take a single click. Re-open the consent banner with the button below to switch your choice, or clear Peamo’s cookies in your browser to be asked again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings; strictly necessary cookies may be reset, which can sign you out.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Peamo evolves or as guidance changes. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and the cookies listed here will be kept in step with what the service actually uses.

  • strictly necessary cookies — always on, no consent needed;
  • non-essential cookies and analytics — off until you accept.
